The Board having sesoubled, prooted to exentre the Sergeant erd
find that he has been reported as having noted or severel
occasions ir e very strangt manner by several members of the
Police Force. For instance, he was fourd ir possession of nerey
which was carked and which did not belong to bing or another
occasion he appears to hers attempted to TONT f watch which wer
not his. de *se brought to hospital on the 14th. dustert and cr
the following afternoon he left hospital without permisaior, erd
wher questicred or hie return as to why he red dore no etcted
that the Captair Superintendent of Police had sent for him to
arrange about taking prisoners to Australia. Thin ben bear
Ascertained to be a delusion. On the 15th. it was fourd recessery
to transfer him to the Lunatic Asylum because he would not obey
ordere.
Wher. examined by the Board his memory was fourd to be vary
defective es to the occurrences Just related, and he did not
appear to be at all aware of the serious nature of ha sctior ir
connection with the money and the wetar. The Board ere of opinion
that Sergeant Baker is mentally unfit for the renformerce of his
duties, and they do not believe that his cordifier im likely to
improve. They recommend that he be invalided sa being wertelly
unfit for further service and that he be sort home or BCON LA
possible.
